Windows 2000 VPN Setup Guide

Open the Network and Dial-up Connections folder under My Computer.  Double-click the icon for Make New Connection.

 

Click Next.

Select Connect to a private network through the Internet, then click Next.

Type in vpn3030.ucf.edu in the space provided for Host name or IP address.

Add a name to your new connection.  We chose UCF VPN for this example.

 

Double-click the new icon for your VPN connection (UCF VPN in this example), or right-click and select Connect.

 

 In the Connect window, enter your NID and your VPN password in the appropriate spaces, then click Connect.

  

The computer will initiate a VPN connection and display the following progress screens:

 

 

 

When you are ready to disconnect from the VPN Server, double-click the VPN status icon in the System Tray.

When the status window appears, click the Disconnect button and your VPN session will be terminated.
