To request and install a Microsoft IIS web server certificate:

1. Use the IIS Web Server Certificate Wizard to request the certificate
   1. Right click on the web to be secured and select Properties
   2. Select the Directory Security tab
   3. Click on Server Certificate
   4. Click Next
   5. Choose "Create a new certificate", Click Next
   6. Choose "Prepare request now but send it later", Click Next
   7. Enter a meaningful name for your web site, select your encryption level and click Next
   8. Enter your Departmental Information, Click Next
   9. Enter a valid and full DNS name to your web site, click Next
   10. Enter your Country, City, State, click Next
   11. Save the file to your computer in a place where you can find it easily.  Click Next
   12. Review you entries, click Next
   13. Finish the wizard
2. Email the file you created to Harold Miles with an explanation of what web site it is for.
3. Wait for a reply email with your new certificates attached.  May take a day or two
4. Use the IIS Web Server Certificate Wizard to install the new certificate
   1. Right click on the web to be secured and select Properties
   2. Select the Directory Security tab
   3. Click on Server Certificate
   4. Click Next
   5. Choose "Process the pending request", click Next
   6. Enter the path to the file you were emailed, click Next
   7. Review the Certificate Summary for correctness, click Next
   8. Click Yes to accept any questions the wizard asks about security
   9. Finish the Wizard
