The root policy that governs all Information Technology use is the Use of Information Technology and Resources Policy, part of which states:

"The University of Central Florida's computing resources and telecommunications networks provide a wide range of resources and facilities for the communication, storage, and processing of information that are of fundamental importance to the academic, research, and administrative functions of the university."

The Network Operations Center (NOC) is responsible for the design, throughput, availability, and overall health for the university’s entire networking infrastructure hardware which makes all computing systems, software, and networks mentioned in the above policy communicate.

The following policies are written to govern what is considered acceptable use of the network to ensure the most network usability and reliability for the largest number of users.
