You should REALLY read this page first.

PingLogZip.exe is a self extracting zip file.  This file is about 2 megs big.  When run, it will uncompress 3 files into the current directory, one of which will be the Ping Log setup.exe file. The uncompressed files will take up almost another 2.5 megs.

The first time you run setup it may update a lot of your windows files and then make you re-boot.  If so, just run setup a second time to install the Ping Log program.  Depending on how old your files are, it may make you re-boot a second time.

The install (if run with all the defaults) will put a shortcut called "Ping Log" in your startup - programs folder.  Click on this shortcut to start the program.  This is also the shortcut you should copy to your "startup" folder.

When the program starts for the first time it will ask you for the address to ping.  Click the "Hide" button in the lower right corner to run the program in the background.  You will only be able to see it's icon in the system tray area.  Double Click this Icon to show the program window again.

Each time you run the program after that it will only start up as an icon in the system tray area.  Double click on that icon to see the program again.

Installation Issues:

Under control panel, system properties, environment - your temp and tmp variables must point at a directory on your boot drive (ie the drive with your WINNT directory).  Setup will be caught in a loop if they are not.
